Who Is Rodya?
Hello, hello! I’m Rodya, but most people call me Rody. I was a former Zone Lead at Amazon Fresh Pasadena. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to launch the Pasadena store and will continue to cherish those memories and my time there.
Although, my current journey as a Zone Lead has come to an end, I remain hopeful for the future and look forward to any all opportunities, but I am especially interested in roles that would give me the opportunity to create positive and meaningful experiences for customers and employees.
I graduated from UC San Diego in 2013 with a B.A. in Communication and a B.S. in Cognitive Science: Human-Computer Interaction.
Biking, gaming, and exercising are the things I enjoy doing.
Music, food, and collaborating with others are my simple pleasures in life.
Family and responsibility are the things that keep me grounded.
Talk to me about anything, everyone has a story to tell and I’m all ears.

My UX Story
In 2014, I interned at a small consulting company called Areteworks and served as the primary notetaker on 4 major client projects. My love for UX started here. Areteworks introduced me to the world of UX, exposing me to user research, usability testing, brainstorming sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
In 2015, I left Areteworks and moved back to San Diego to intern at Lytx where I primarily worked on shaping the onboarding experience of our product. I worked closely with our 3-person UX team under an agile scrum framework, completing several small projects that exposed me to gamification, wireframing, prototyping, user onboarding, and user testing. After my internship ended, I moved back home and immediately purchased my very own Mac as well as Sketch, OmniGraffle, and Axure.
As I searched for my next UX opportunity, I broadened my job search to include administrative roles in my area. Within two weeks, I was offered a role as an Administrative Assistant at a national tax credit firm called KBKG. Over 4 years, I worked with directors, managers, partners, engineers, CPA’s, business development, marketing, and IT as a CRM Coordinator, Project Assistant, and Administrative Assistant. After 4 years, I resigned so that I could venture into a career path that would allow me to interact with customers on a more involved level.
In 2020, I started working at Amazon as a Prime Now Shopper. In 2022, I was promoted to Zone Lead at the recently launched Amazon Fresh in Pasadena, CA. Although, my journey as a Zone Lead has come to an end as a result of company restructuring, I remain hopeful for the future and look forward to any all opportunities, but I am especially interested in roles that will give me the opportunity to continue creating positive and meaningful experiences for customers and employees.
UX will always be important to me because it is about people; it is about finding solutions to the problems and frustrations that people face. I am grateful for UX because it taught me how to apply a user-centered design thinking mindset to any role I take on in order to create positive customer and employee experiences.
